Our Club's Trainers
I was born and reared in Monasterevin Co. Kildare, a small town adjacent to the Curragh plains & Racecourse. It is home to all the Irish Classic races and is the main training centre in Ireland.
Horses were always going to be an integral part of my life and my early years were spent trying to ride ponies there.
Once my formal education was finished I opted to stay involved with thoroughbreds as I now was exercising and working part time at home with my father who now held a trainers licence. I left to gain experience and rode as stable amateur to one of the biggest racing yards in England (Jimmy Fitzgerald) at that time.
Four years later I returned and started with Kildangan Stud owned by Sheikh Mohammad. During this period I met my future wife Deirdre and we bought a farm of land together.
I took a career break from horses soon after, mainly for financial reasons and worked in the construction industry, eventually setting up my own company while at the same time developing our facilities on the farm to include a modern one mile all weather gallop and American barn.
The worldwide recession started, construction work finished in this country and I was fortunate to have my yard and Gallops complete.
I have now formed Celtic Racing Club to build numbers in our stable, offering a high level of entertainment at a very low cost to all involved. Join us now and let the journey begin!!!
